Luton had an issue with the shirt suppliers and at the start of a new season the shirts were not ready for the team.

 

So with special permission, the club were able to repurpose ***commemorative shirts and turn them into player shirts with the correct names, numbers and league patches for the first few weeks of the season. 

Johnstones Paint Trophy Final Shirt 2009

*** 2008/09 was the 20th anniversary of winning the Littlewoods Cup. To commemorate it, we produced an in the 'style of Adidas' version of the trophy winning shirt. The shirt has 2 stripes instead of 3 and an anniversary logo in the place of a makers badge. 

 

The shirt was worn in a Luton v Celebrity Arsenal XI charity match.
